The Waiting Room

Do you sometimes feel that you are just waiting for something in your life to happen? I think most people feel like that. We spend so much time trying to get to where we want to be that we fail to see what is happening around us. I have been waiting for someone to notice my photos and give me the break I need to make a career out of something I truly love.

Recently I was contacted by a company who found my photos on my flickr page and they commissioned me to take some images. This image is not one of those images but for some reason I felt it summed up how I have been feeling - a solitary faceless figure waiting for for something to happen.

I just wanted to add an entry about the work of Steve McCurry who is one of the greatest living portrait and reportage photographers currently working. Having documented the people of many remote and difficult regions Steve's work truly captures the human condition applicable to all of us regardless of geographical or ethnic boundaries.
